We donated more than 5000 books to the schools. We also donated custom-built shelves so that the books could be stored safely, as many of the students did not have any place to store their books. The idea was to ensure that the books would be useful for as long a time as possible.
The books that were donated were also chosen based on how interesting they would be for the children. It is very important to increase the level of education in places with abject poverty. An educated person can pull themselves out of poverty with the right opportunities – but they have to be educated first. In order to be educated, they need teachers and they need schools. In order for the schools and teachers to do their job, they need the right books.
The books chosen had colorful illustrations and interesting examples. The idea was to make education more interesting to increase the illiteracy rate and to inculcate a love for learning within the minds of the children.
Hustle2Educate is one of our proudest achievements. It was also an eye-opening experience. We didn’t need a lot of resources to complete the project. We didn’t need the millions of dollars that would be needed to make such a change in a developed country. Through modest contributions alone we were able to provide books to thousands of young Indian students. Imagine how much of an impact this makes on the future of the country – having thousands of more educated people who will not be a part of the poverty cycle.
Hustle2Educate continues to work towards making lives of people better in such areas. We would love to adopt more villages and spread even more education with your help.
